Entropion

Información

Entropion is a condition in which the edge of the eyelid turns inward and comes into contact with the surface of the eye. This can cause irritation, discomfort, and damage to the cornea due to constant friction. Common causes of entropion include aging, weakening of the eyelid muscles, scarring, or congenital anomalies.

Symptoms may include red eye, excessive tearing, a feeling of a foreign body in the eye, and blurred vision. Treatment is usually surgical and involves correcting the position of the eyelid.

Untreated entropion can lead to serious complications, such as corneal ulcers or recurrent eye infections. Therefore, it is important to seek medical attention if symptoms of entropion are experienced to prevent further eye damage and improve visual comfort.
